Who We Are

ABBCO employs lathe hands, mill hands, OD/ID grinders, surface grinders, cutter grinders, inspectors, managers, engineers, and administrative assistants.

Most ABBCO employees were trained in house under our Tool and Gage Maker Apprenticeship. 

Our employees have over 400 years of combined experience in cutting tool manufacturing.

What We Do

We turn, ream, bore, mill, straight and spiral flute mill.  We, also I.D. and O.D. grind, surface grind, braze, and cutter grind.  We cutter grind angular reliefs, angular clearances, radial and axial reliefs, and eccentric reliefs.

How We Got Here - ABBCO Inc. History

ABBCO was started in 1961 with three employees and six pieces of equipment.  We were originally located on Peterson Ave in Chicago, IL and moved to Elston Ave in 1965.  In 1982 we relocated to Garden Ave in Bensenville, IL.

The City of Chicago needed our property for the expansion of the O'Hare airport, so in October of 2009, we relocated to Elk Grove Village, IL.  Our nearly 20,000 square feet was laid out specifically for the manufacture of custom cutting tools and precision components.

We are Technical Members of the Precision Machined Products Association (PMPA).

We have been members of the Tooling and Manufacturing Association, an Illinois focused association, since 1961.

We proudly sponsor the USA Luge Team 

and

the Purdue University-Society of Automotive Engineers Mini-Baja Team.
